Are there any folks living /working in Phenox Arizona? Is it very hot? How is the living costs?
It kind of tops most dangerous state, ranks low on healthy living etc. Any first hand experiences? When you moved from other states what was your experience? Any desis there? Any desi experience?

If you consider 105 degrees at Midnight during the summer, then Yes! it’s HOT!!!!!! so stay away, there’s too many people here now!……..lol. Even though it’s that hot, more and more people are moving here each year. The cost of living has gone up, but it’s not as expensive as neighboring states like Nevada and California. Flights out to California and Vegas from Phoenix are cheap. There are plenty of jobs here and lots to do. If it gets to hot and you need a break, you can also take a 1 1/2 hr. drive to Prescott, or drive farther to Flagstaff and Sedona. Down town, South and West Phoenix are the areas to stay away from. Outlying areas both far East and far West are really growing, with new clean community’s and good schools.
We are a safe state. Gilbert is one of the safest cities in the USA. Most people move here to be more healthy as far as allergies, asthma. It has been great living here and I will never move.
I am born and raised Phoenician. Dangerous only because we are close to the border and the car theft rates are high here. I can’t say about other places, but i have visted others often and it’s still home. I’m not sure what "desis" is, so I can’t respond to that. Cost of living is not bad. I don’t think it is as low as some places (i.e., Carolinas, etc.) but it’s not Southern California either. Arizona attracts a lot of Californians and New Yorkers because the cost of living is so much lower in comparrison but it’s not unreasonably low and the housing market has gone up a lot in the past few years.
Phoenix is probably the hottest city in the nation. For healthy living, it’s pretty low. The air pollution is getting pretty bad, only L.A. and Houston are worse. Phoenix must be appealing, we get about 100,000 people a year moving in.
Of course! there are many friendly people here in phoenix! as long as you dont go to scottsdale! the living cost arent deadly or bad!
im desi, and iv been living here scince i was like 8 but i think as long as u live the suburubs your okay. and there are a lot of desi’s now to. we had over 3000 people at the gujrati garba here! it only sorta tops it becuz it is the 5th largest city int eh us anyway.. and it has a bad part and thats the south phoenix-laveen and central phoenix and mesa, thats about it! other wise its a great place to live..
ps. yeah its hot ! eh! but some people just over exaurate.
